Share an AI-Generated Image as a Link and See When It Gets Opened
You can share an AI-generated image as a link by uploading it at squish.to/upload. You get a short link that opens the image in any browser, plus a stats page that shows how many times the link was opened, when, from which country, and from which source. JPG, PNG, WebP and GIF files work, up to 10MB, and no account is needed.
That makes it a handy way to send a client a mockup, a logo draft, a product render or a concept board, and to find out whether they have looked at it.
Why a link beats an attachment for images
AI image tools make it easy to produce ten versions of a concept in an afternoon. Sending them is the clumsy part. Attachments get compressed by chat apps, buried in email threads, or blocked by a size limit. A client on a phone has to download the file and hunt for it in their camera roll.
A link is lighter. The client taps it and the image opens in the browser, the same on a phone or a laptop. You also get something an attachment never gives you: a count of opens, so you know whether it is time to follow up or whether the draft is still sitting unseen.
How to share an AI-generated image on squish.to
- Save the image to your device. Most AI image tools have a download button. PNG and JPG are the safest choices. WebP and GIF work too.
- Open squish.to/upload. Pick your file. If you like, choose a custom name for the link, such as
acme-logo-v2. Custom names use letters, numbers and hyphens, from 3 to 30 characters. - Upload and copy your link. You get a short link such as
squish.to/acme-logo-v2, plus a QR code. - Send it. Drop it into an email, a Slack message, a text or a project doc.
The file limit is 10MB. Uploaded files stay live for 30 days, which suits the usual life of a draft: you send it, the client reacts, and you upload the next round.
How to see when your image was opened
Click View stats after you upload, or visit squish.to/stats and enter your link name. You will see:
- Total opens for the link
- Opens in the last 7 days and your busiest day
- A 14-day chart of daily opens
- Recent opens, each with the time, the country, and the source, such as LinkedIn, WhatsApp or Direct
The recent opens list shows the latest six, so it is a quick pulse check rather than a full log.
One link per client, one link per round
Stats belong to the link, not to a person. If you send one link to three stakeholders, you will see opens but not who made them. The fix is simple: upload a copy for each recipient, with names like acme-logo-v2-sam and acme-logo-v2-priya. It takes a few seconds and keeps every signal clean.
The same habit works for rounds of feedback. Upload each version as its own link so you can tell whether the client has seen version 2 or is still on version 1.
Read opens as a hint, not a verdict
Some chat apps and email tools load a link automatically to build a preview or run a safety scan. That can add an open that no human made, usually within a second or two of sending. A second open hours later is far more likely to be a person. For more on what a squish.to link records, see what a URL shortener actually logs.
Tips for better mockup links
- Export at a sensible size. A huge image can be slow on mobile data and runs into the 10MB limit. Resize to what the client needs to see.
- Name the link well. A name like
acme-homepage-concepttells you at a glance which stats page is which. - Keep sensitive designs for sensitive channels. A short link is easy to share, which is the point. Only upload drafts you are happy for anyone with the link to open.
- Upload again when the deal runs long. Files expire after 30 days, so replace the link if feedback takes longer.
- Need a page instead of a picture? If you want to send a styled one-pager or a proposal with text and layout, see how to host AI-generated HTML and track views.
Try it
Upload your next AI-made mockup at squish.to/upload. It takes under a minute, and you will see the first open as soon as someone taps the link.
